ALBERUNI.
He was the first to draw the attention of Muslim thinkers to the knowledge of the East, especially the knowledge of India. Professor Mapa said, "AlBeruni was the greatest scholar not only of the Muslim world but of the entire world." He left the history of the world before the people of the world; But self-identification is absent from the pages of history. Nothing much is known about his childhood life, education life, marriage life and children. Perhaps the historians and sages did not feel the need to introduce the person in detail.
Al-Biruni is one of the thinkers who advanced the knowledge and civilization of the world by the contribution of the late tenth and eleventh centuries. He was a gifted person. He possessed immense knowledge in astronomy, physics, medical science, chemistry, biology, geology, botany, mathematics, philosophy, jurisprudence, calendar and history, history of civilization, theology etc.
as is known from the pages of Karen history, he was born in the suburbs of Khawarism on Thursday, September 3, 973 AD according to 3 Zilhajj 362 Hijri. His real name was Abu Rayhan Muhammad Ibn Ahmad AlBeruni. He used to write his name Abu Rayhan but in history he is better known as AlBeruni. His childhood was spent under the tutelage of princes of the Al-Iraq dynasty, especially Abu Mansur bin Ali bin Iraq. Here he spent 22 long years in royal favour. During his stay here, his unique talent spread slowly. The incompetence and weakness of the Abbasid caliphs led to the emergence of many independent dynasties in different parts of the empire. During this time two dynasties were established in the province of Khawarism. The southern part of the province was ruled by Al-Biruni's patron Abu Abdullah of Al-Iraq clan and the northern part was ruled by Ma'mun bin Mahmud. In 994-95 AD, when Mamun bin Mahmud Abu Abdullah killed and took over the kingdom, AlBeruni's life became sad and miserable. He was bewildered by the loss of those under whose care he had spent 22 long years. With a heavy heart he left Khawajarism and continued on a shelterless and aimless path. Day after day and night after night he spent half-starved. At this time, he fell under the spell of King Qabus of Jurjan. King Qaboos was an electrician. He loved wise people very much. He had previously heard of AlBeruni's reputation. The King arranged for Al Beruni to have better shelter. AlBeruni spent his days here happily, but he could not forget for a moment the guardians of the Al-Iraq clan, whose affection he had spent 22 years with. During his stay here in 1001-1002 AD, he wrote two books called 'Asarul Baqiyya' and 'Tajri Dush Shuat'. As a sign of gratitude to the king, he dedicated the book 'Asarul Baqiyya' to the name of King Qaboos.
Sultan Mamun bin Mahmud, the king of Khawarism, was a scholar and was impressed by AlBeruni's wisdom and virtue. Sultan Mamun in a letter also requested Beruni to return to the country. He also requested to come to Matrubhumi Khawarijn in 1011 AD at the request of the Sultan and served as the Sultan's Prime Minister. Along with the state work, he also continued to practice and research knowledge. He conducted astronomical observations by building the structure. Here he stayed for 5/6 years and wrote several books on various subjects of science.Sultan Mahmud, the great conqueror of Ghazni, respected the wise and virtuous people very much, and in his royal court almost every day there were discussions between the wise and virtuous people of the country and abroad on knowledge science and literary practice. Sultan Mahmud sent indirect instructions in a dignified letter to send the wise men of Sultan Mamun's Shahi court to Ghazni. After receiving the letter, al-Biruni attended the Shahi court of Sultan Mahmud in Ghazni in 1016 AD with a few companions. Ibn Sina, one of the world-renowned scientists and philosophers of Mamun's court, rejected this proposal as an insult and a betrayal of self-respect, and left Khawarism with a few companions. Sultan Mahmud did not find Ibn Sina and took over the kingdom of Khawarism on the pretext of Ibn Sina's rebellion. Al Beruni stayed in Ghazni from 1016 to 1019 AD as a personal companion of Sultan Mahmud. Note that Sultan Mahmud invaded India 17 times and AlBeruni accompanied the Sultan to India several times. He marveled at the richness of Indian art, literature, philosophy and science at that time. Later, with Rajasarman, he stayed in India from 1019-1029 AD, met with the wise men there, exchanged views with them on geography, mathematics and theology and studied the books of knowledge there. He wrote his famous book 'Kitabul Hind' after returning from India. It is a reliable book to know the Indian knowledge science, art, literature and religious discipline of that time.
According to European scholars Beruni is the encyclopedia itself. He was also famous as a linguist. His erudition was on languages like Arabic, Persian, Syrian Greek, culture, Hebrew etc. He discovered many facts in trigonometry. Corpanicus said that the planets, including the Earth, revolved around the Sun, but 425 years before the birth of Corpunicus, al-Biruni said, "The earth revolves with a circular motion." He gave his correct idea by mistaking the decimal calculations of Ptolemy and Jacob. He was the first to discover natural springs and artesian wells. He was also famous as an astrologer. He discovered the difference between the speed of sound and the science of religion.AlBeruni discovered a wonderful method of precise and pure calculation which is now called The Formula of Interpolation. Western scholars are trying to promote it as Newton's discovery. But al-Biruni discovered it 592 years before Newton's birth and used it to prepare pure sine lists. After completing this formula, he also created a tangent list. He is the number of petals of different types of flowers, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 18 but never 7 or 9; Discovered this truth. His contribution to medical science was also the greatest. He wrote an invaluable book on medical science. In the book he described the art of making medicine for many diseases. Professor Hamarneh said, "Al-Biruni was the first person, not only in the Muslim world but also in all the civilized worlds of the world, to discuss the history and methods of making medicine from BC to his own time.
Methodist scientist AlBeruni has written many books on science, philosophy, logic, history etc. According to the list of books he wrote 13 years before his death, the number of his books is 114. In the next 13 years he wrote many more books. Apart from the books mentioned above, the notable books are 'Kitabut Tafhim'. It is divided into 530 chapters. It discusses numbers, geometry and the structure of the world. 'Ifradul Fal fil Amril Azlal' - It discusses the astronomical galaxies. 'Al Asharul Baqiyya Alal Kubanil Kalia' - It has been presented the history of the ancient times of the world. 'Zije Abkand (Relating to Astronomy and Astronomy). His notable treatise is 'Alal fi zij Khawarizmi (On Logic). It is surprising to think how difficult it is for one person to write hundreds of books of huge size.Al-Biruni was one of the greatest sages of all time. Modern science is built on the fundamental discoveries of him and other Muslim scientists. AlBeruni is not alive today; But his name will rise like a bright star. It was al-Biruni whose solitary pursuits opened the horizon of knowledge to a new light in the late 10th and 11th centuries. He was very pious. He believed that Allah is the possessor of all knowledge.
on Friday, December 12, 1048, according to 2 Rajab of 440 Hijri he was no more.
At the age of 63, this man fell seriously ill. Slowly he became weak. No treatment could cure him. Finally, Abu Rayhan Muhammad Ibn Ahmad AlBeruni breathed his last at the age of 75 .
