Many of us find it difficult to understand the proper meaning of the names and aliases used in the certificate information in the land department offices of Bengal.Some of them are discussed here.

एस, ए (एस, ए) खतियान?
1750 के जमींदारी अधिग्रहण और उपनिवेशीकरण अधिनियम के पारित होने के बाद, सरकार ने जमींदारी का अधिग्रहण कर लिया। फिर - सी.एस. खतियान सरकारी सर्वेक्षण कर्मचारियों द्वारा खेत में जाए बिना मिट्टी में समाहित कर लिया जाता है, इसलिए एस.ए. खतियान कहा जाता है।
*आर.एस. खतियान क्या है?
एक बार सर्वेक्षण हो जाने के बाद, उसमें उल्लिखित त्रुटियों को सुधारने के लिए किया जाने वाला सर्वेक्षण आरएस खतियान के नाम से जाना जाता है।

क्रय आदेश / विरासत आदेश या किसी अन्य आदेश में नए नाम का नामांकन।
*Tafsil?
भूमि के ऐसे विस्तृत विवरण को अनुसूची कहा जाता है।किट्टा क्या है?कित्ता एक ऐसा भूखंड है जो भूखंड संख्या के अनुसार मौजर के अंतर्गत भूमि स्वामी के सीमा स्तंभ या बांध से घिरा होता है।
* कित्ता?
खुदरा भूमि की मात्रा.
* जमाबन्दि?
ज़मींदारी काल में ज़मींदार या तालुकदार के शेरेस्ता में प्रजा के नाम, भूमि और लगान का विवरण दर्ज करने का नियम था।

जब सरकार या संपत्ति के मालिक को किराया दिया जाता है तो एक निश्चित फॉर्म या रसीद (फॉर्म नंबर ******) जारी की जाती है - जिसे दाखिल या रशीद के रूप में जाना जाता है।
*डीसीआर?
भूमि कर के अलावा अन्य सरकारी बकाया राशि के संग्रह के लिए चयनित फर्म को रसीद (फॉर्म संख्या *** या)।
* कबूलियत(स्वीकृति)?
सरकार ने किसानों को भूमि का अधिग्रहण करने की पेशकश की तथा प्रजा द्वारा कर और लगान का भुगतान करने का वादा किया।*Faraez? मृत व्यक्ति की संपत्ति का

*.हुकुमनाम (कमांड डाउन)?
अमलनामा या हुक्मनामा जमींदार का होता है।भूमि के निपटान के बाद विषय की संपत्ति पर कब्जे को साबित करने वाले दस्तावेज़ को संदर्भित करता है।

संयुक्त जमा को अलग-अलग विभाजित करके नए खतियान का निर्माण।
* किस्तोआर क्या है?
भूमि सर्वेक्षण के दौरान चेन बनाकर भूमि का वास्तविक वनस्पति चिया का सटीक चित्रण कर डिजाइन तैयार किया जाता है।
*सिकस्ति
?नदी के कटाव के परिणामस्वरूप भूमि नदी के नीचे चली जाती है।
*पय़ऩ्ति?
नदी तल से गाद द्वारा भूमि का निर्माण।
